Normally for non-pairing rec’s I like to stick to gen, but I’m breaking my own rule today. As a (relative) newcomer to SG-1 fandom, I get the double pleasure of discovering things some people have already seen, and then passing them on for people even newer at this than I. And, of course, going back to re-read is a pleasure in itself.

Why This Must Be Read:
Cloned Jack is an opportunity to explore who Jack O’Neill might have been without the continuing stresses of military life, and catspaw does it brilliantly. Even if you’re not a J/D fan, if you are willing to scroll through one agonizingly emotional thumper of a sex scene to get to the heart of the matter, you will not be disappointed. Clone Jack comes across Daniel sometime in the future, when Daniel’s been sidelined by injury and his friendship with General O’Neill is more ashes than embers. He sees a chance to change things for the better, as he has been trying to do in many aspects of his life—a number of which have been influenced by knowing Daniel. If the combination of sweet, sly, and bitter doesn’t get you in the main portion, hang on for the cameo from the General in the epilogue.
Excerpt:
"Anyway, like I said - means to an end. You're looking at the proud owner of Aske Air Freight - 'Need to move it? Aske for service'." Jack cocked his head to one side as he finished speaking with a quizzical lift of one eyebrow, mouth folding into a small, sly smile, and Daniel frowned, getting the feeling that he was waiting for something.
"Ask?"
"With an 'e'."
Daniel's brow slowly cleared. "Cute. The first man created by the Asgard."
"I knew you'd get it. Nobody else does."
