Why This Must Be Read: There are only certain people who can manage to write in a Jane Austen style without making historical errors that would make actual Austen fans scream, not to mention getting a handle on the language. This is one of those stories that manages to succeed with both. It is a UST story and it ends that way, and since it was last updated in 2007, I suspect that's not going to change.

Havoc doesn't fail to give us an extremely well-written and well-planned story as the coming conflict takes an unexpected turn, bringing an old friend of Elizabeth's back into her life. And this threesome? Is just plain sexy.

this is the story that put the idea of Kate/Elizabeth into my head and did so through the extremely wonderful characterization of Elizabeth. Depending on your corner of fandom, Elizabeth doesn't get the treatment she deserves.

havocthecat, however, writes an Elizabeth that is insanely complex and varied. This is a REAL Elizabeth. One you can feel Torri inhabiting, which can't be said for some characterizations around fandom. I always love reading

havocthecat's fanfiction with Elizabeth, whether she's evil, mischievious, duty-driven, or all of the above with a side of choca-holic thrown into it for fun, she's always amazing. This story? ESPECIALLY SO.

A quiet conversation, chocolate appreciation, and sex, it's not a side of Elizabeth we get to see often and it's just a wonderful read.

Why This Must Be Read: This fic both makes me sad and want to melt. The smut is extremely hot, but the story is not entirely pwp. Sam's emotional phobias and character are both very much present in this story, as well as the more mischievous side of Elizabeth's personality that we so rarely get to see. Geonn's story provides a possible explanation behind the friction between Sam and Elizabeth in New Order. A very enjoyable read.

This is an excellent exploration of the ways in which our expedition leader deals with five of the more trying experiences she's had in Pegasus. Why This Must Be Read: Because this story has everything: intriguing plot, spot-on characterization, scorching hot smut that is ridiculously well executed, and at the end, the reader is left wanting more. Lots and lots more because it could just go so many places.

The story takes place off Atlantis, where the three characters are abandoned on an icy planet with a bunch of locals who are not what they seem. The interaction between the three characters is exactly like how one would expect given the situation: Elizabeth clinging to her authority and distance, even in a situation where she's been stripped of that. John impatient and coming up with (a slightly reckless) Plan B to get them off the planet, and Lorne playing the part of the middle ground; less reckless than John but more daring than Elizabeth. Which, despite not knowing Lorne as well as we could on the show, is exactly how I picture him.

The story doesn't begin with them established in a threesome relationship, and

irony_rocks acknowledges that Elizabeth wouldn't be the type to feel comfortable in such a situation, especially given she's had trouble with a monogomous relationship in the past. There is fear and hesitance written into how they all enter into this threesome, and it's very well-portrayed.

Now, we're all hanging on the edge of our seats waiting for the sequel. There needs to be one!

Tricia wrote this fic for the [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] ficathon, and this is a great portrait of a developing long-distance relationship. In their first moments together, they form a bond of mutual dislike of Kinsey, but their relationship doesn't move along smoothly. Two strong-willed women, both used to being in charge, in a relationship with no conflicts? Not. Gonna. Happen. And I like that Tricia makes that a part of this story. I highly encourage everyone to go and read this story, and then to prod her for a sequel. (We need a sequel. Oh, yes, we do.) Also nice is the whole attitude Tricia takes of "Heroes, what Heroes? Didn't happen." I like that in Janet fics.

Why This Must Be Read: Pure, honest-to-goodness, beautiful smutty CRACK. Most genderswap fics I've read get terribly caught up in melodrama and angst, but this? Brilliant. My favorite is the last one with Elizabeth, simply because these are two characters that I've rarely seen interact and eretria does it perfectly.
