Why this must be read: This very recent piece is one of the best Threads fic I've read. It shows Sam determined to carry on with her relationship with Pete, but struggling with the notion that she hides things from him all the time - but about work and herself. She tries hard to follow the 'normal' path, but not for the reasons you usually see in fics. The fic is deep, angsty, but at the same time very sweet - but not sappy. Definitely worthy a read.

Why this must be read: When Sam disappears in The road not taken, SG-1 take turns keeping her company in the room from which she disappeared - but since she's not there, it's SG-1 talking to an empty room. Though there is established Sam/Jack in the fic, the focus is on SG-1 and how Sam's disappearance (and Daniel's as well) is affecting them. Most friendship fics I like feature 'classic' SG-1, but this is a nice one with the new group.

Summary: Missing scenes from The Road Not Taken. When Carter disappears, the rest of SG1 are left behind to talk to an empty room.

Why this must be read:

An intriguing look at a phobia that would not be the first to come to mind when it comes to Rodney. A man who's so afraid to be alone that he fills the space around him with his voice and his presence. Just so the silence won't overwhelm him. My heart literally twinged the time he slept on John's couch, just to hear John's breathing and to know he wasn't alone in the world. Somehowunbroken has managed to take an unusual and unique phobia and just make it fit Rodney to a tee. You'll ache with Rodney and just want to give him some company after reading this.

Story Summary: hc_bingo: 'monophobia (fear of being alone).'

Why This Must Be Read: This is a dark and somewhat disturbing post apocalyptic story that shows us many sides of Daniel. He's in many ways something to all who need him as he offers himself as both a conduit for release and as a friend. It's sad and a little chilling but wonderfully written.
