Why this must be read:
She needed normality but doubted she was ever going to find it, that she would always be caught, suspended between attraction and repulsion.
Epic Rodney/Laura, which is an unusual thing for the rarer pairing, but is well worth taking the time to read. John forces Rodney to take Laura on a mission to investigate a possible explosive, but Rodney gets exposed to a solar flare and they have to wait until it is possible to contact Atlantis. Laura won't let Rodney sit around and feel sorry for himself and so she deliberately provokes him, as she doesn't know how to handle miserable Rodney. The characterisation of the pair is great, because although they get together, they retain their teasing and snarky relationship, making the possibility seem much more realisitic You get Rodney being his usual arrogant self, which is what gets him into trouble but also a more sensitive side when Laura tells him about the 'jerk' she likes :P
