Why This Must be Read:
This is a great look into the not-so-average sex life of our favorite couple. It brings out some of the little excentricities that each of them have. And it's just a great, fun read, as is just about anything by Ky.

Excerpt:
Admittedly, he's had his fair share of fantasies about this - and many other scenarios that they have played out over the past few months - but exobishionism has never been something that floated his boat and this could quite possibly turn out to be the single most publicly humiliating experience of his adult sex life to date. Shudder. "I actually think it's a really good idea, in theory, but..."

Jack has just realized that under the blue of her BDU jacket, there is nothing. No plain black shirt, no tank top, no bra. Just... lots and lots of flesh. White, creamy flesh. And breasts. With protruding nipples...

...Was he saying something?

Why This Must be Read:
Honestly, I can't think of a fic by Dani that SHOULDN'T be read. This one stands out as a nice little look on how bringing back old friends can effect someone. It's post Ripple Effect and Sam reflecting on life's fragile threads leads to Sam/Jack smut. It was also written to try and perk up a friend of hers... ME :-) and it worked.

Excerpt:
Seeing her again had nearly bent her double. She’d been able to hold back the small corner of her heart that denied her death, but seeing her there - seeing her walking and talking and interacting left Sam with such an immense feeling of depression that her heart hurt.

Why This Fic Must Be Read: This is probably one of the BEST fics I've ever read. It is truly amazing.

Life in the Pegasus is a dangerous thing, as everyone is well aware. The threat of the Wraith makes that obvious. But that threat also spawns other threats, such as what some people are willing to do to protect themselves. In this fic, Reyclou explores a possibility of what happens under those circumstances. Elizabeth and the rest of the team are left to mourn a great and terrible loss, but she soon discovers that not everything is quite what it seems. And that hope often comes unlooked for.

This fic was going to go to a 'zine, but apparently something didn't work out and thus it is now being reposted at ff.net. I cannot recommend this fic enough. I've read it more than once and it never fails to bring me to tears.

Why This Must Be Read: A well-written romp wherein The Boys Rescue Vala. Sort of.

The voices for Vala, Teal'c, and Cameron are so brilliantly perfect that I heard the actors' voices in my head as I read. This is "old-school" SG-1 humor, where the humor comes from situation a team can find itself in; I laughed many, many times while reading. Every comic duo needs a straight man and Teal'c is the perfect foil, unperturbed by a frenetic Cameron. The author picks up the Season 9 slashy subtext of Cameron's fanboy fawning over Teal'c and runs with it.

This fic is more than just humorous; it's packed with characterization that is amusing, touching, and insightful all at once.

Why This Must Be Read: Sometimes, a fic is so good it makes you tear up a little -- this story is one of those for me. Not that it's an angsty tear-jerker; no, it's a relatively short piece that captures Teal'c so beautifully. He's alien. He's a warrior. He's an observer. He's cautious. He's weary. It all rings so very, very true with the Teal'c I know in my head.

Teal'c originally threw his lot in with the Tau'ri on a split-second decision to support Jack O'Neill; this is a Teal'c who is weary from battles and who finds himself starting anew, with a new commander, at a time when he has reached a crossroads and must decide how best to continue fighting for the freedom of the Jaffa.

Gonna do things a bit differently this month, mostly because doing the link post alone every month takes me over an hour. *g* So, I'm gonna streamline a bit. If you see a category you want to rec (in the post that follows), click on the link and sign up.

Remember DO NOT specify a certain month to rec.

*-*-*

I've seen it in more than one post this month, so I'm going to do a group wide reminder.

PLEASE do not deviate from this format when setting up your rec...

Rec Category:
Pairing:
Category:
Warning:
Author on LJ:
Author's Website:

Why This Must Be Read:

Do not put anything before the Rec Category please. It's easier on the volunteers if they don't have to wade through information to get to the Rec Category. Anything you want to 'say' about the fic should be put after 'Why This Must Be Read'. Also, the title, author, and rating are put in the subject line, so they really don't have to be repeated in the entry itself and please don't put them before the Rec Category. Think of it like this... the Rec Category is the most important piece of information in the entry that is going to be given, so it should always be first. The title, author, and rating are the most important aspects to credit so they go in the Subject.

*-*-*

Also, I want to take a moment and mention something that a couple of people have asked lately. We have Slash located in two places on this community. We do not distinguish between m/m and f/f. In other words, we don't have two separate categories for men and women. We have Slash: Other in the pairings category where you can sign up to rec a slash pairing that doesn't have its own category. So, for example, if you want to rec, Sam/Elizabeth, you can volunteer under the Slash: Other category and rec just Sam Carter/Elizabeth Weir for that month. Or if you want to rec Daniel Jackson/Walter Harriman, you sign up there too. We don't distinguish m/m or f/f, it's simply whoever is next in line gets the call.

Now, if you don't have enough recs to cover the four for Slash: Other, but you want to rec slash, we do have the Slash category in the genre area. For that one, you don't need to specify a pairing. You don't need to rec so many m/m pairings or so many f/f pairings. If you sign up for Slash in the genre category, it's yours to rec whatever slash story you want. Do I prefer that you rec different pairings? Yes. Do I know that there have been volunteers who have signed up for Slash and rec solely, let's say, Jack O'Neill/Daniel Jackson? Yes, I know. It happens, and although it's not my preference and I do look over all the entries, the stories are slash and that is the genre that was chosen by the rec'cer.

So basically, if you want to rec slash and your specific pairing isn't represented, then try Slash: Other if you have enough recs to cover the four or just Slash if you have a few of one pairing and a few of the other.

Why This Must Be Read: Even though this story is from Sora's POV, it's really just as much about Teyla as it is about her. It picks up at the end of "The Eye" and continues through "The Siege," and it gives the reader an interesting glimpse at Teyla through the eyes of someone who's known her for years.

Why This Must Be Read: This is a short, but very well-written, glimpse at what could be. It starts sometime during the early part of the second season, but the bulk of it takes place during "The Lost Boys" - giving what would otherwise be a fairly straightforward story a vaguely dark twist.

Why This Must Be Read: This is just a glimpse of what might have happened while the Atlantis team was on Earth after "The Siege." Cameron's trying to fit in, John's trying to avoid fitting in, and Daniel ... well, Daniel's trying to seduce them both. But mostly Cameron.
