Why This Must Be Read: There's nothing like reading about two lovers spending some time together in an idealic setting with a light rain coming down outside. Cliché, you say? Perhaps. But in this case, it's a wonderful read. Stexgirl provides us with a nice futuristic look at John and Elizabeth's relationship as they revel in what they have together as well as contemplate what might be in store for their future.

Why This Must Be Read: Way back during the earlier years of SG-1 (Season 4, actually), Shifu the Harsesis child told Daniel that all roads eventually lead to the Great Path and that some cross along the way. That's actually a good way to describe this story, I think.

One event changed sets John and Elizabeth down a road previously untraveled, and although their destination is the one it was always meant to be, how they came to it was radically altered. And it had them in much better shape to face the future, I think. 

Melyanna caught my attention with this story from the beginning and she never lost it for a minute. It's worth every second of your time!

Why This Must Be Read: People often bond through shared pain, and John and Elizabeth are no exception to that. They've bonded through many painful experiences within the show itself, and continue to do so in this wonderful fic.

Captured by an alien force, John and Elizabeth must bide their time and keep each other alive while waiting for rescue. But that is only the beginning of the story and there is much more for them to face before the story's end.

The way that John and Elizabeth deal with the trials placed before them in this fic is written in an outstanding style. This story will make you cry, no doubt about it, but every tear is well-shed.

Why This Must Be Read: Despite the pairing, this story is written from John’s POV. Miera has an excellent handle on John and a deft touch with humour that is never forced and always enjoyable. Plus, she has a way of dropping in simple details that make you think ‘that is so them’.

As an added extra I’m an excerpt that is typical of her insight not just into John, but men in general.
