Why This Must Be Read: This story's an interesting look at what might've happened had Rodney found a way to stay behind in the Pegasus Galaxy after the Ancient's kicked the expedition out (no, I'll let you read and figure out how that happened, because it's quite clever in its simplicity). The pairings aren't ones I usually read, but Stella Wind does a lovely job of sneaking them into the story in a way that doesn't feel forced and yet makes it entirely secondary to the main plot of the story. She's got some interesting ideas here too, speculations about the Ancients, Atlantis, and also does a nice job of tying in a few places that got featured or mentioned in various episodes and shows their potential past what the show did.

It's possibly not the most exciting story ever, but the theories explored here are original and more than made up for that to me. It definitely deserves more love than it seems to have gotten on AO3, so go check it out!

Although I've already recced one story by nixa_jane this month, I just couldn't resist reccing a second. What can I say, this author just makes me laugh. This particular story had me from the summary. It's an AU that feature Rodney as a self-made genius billionaire and John as a bartender Rodney meets when trying to drown his sorrows over a break-up with Katie Brown. The rest of this story is a whirlwind of events that Rodney manages to sweep a bewildered and somehow charmed-despite-himself John into. Also includes a cameo appearance by the best comedy duo in several galaxies: Daniel Jackson and Jack O'Neill, appearing as police officers who seemingly learned everything they know from the Keystone Cops. This is a thoroughly enjoyable read, so go check it out!

Why This Must Be Read:

Out of all the Sentinel/SGA/SG1 crossover stories I have read this is my favourite. Not only does Keira Marcos takes on the Sentinel mythology but runs with it enhances it and creates a superb series delving deeper into the Sentinel/Guide Universe beautifully. John has spent his life as an unbounded Sentinel riding under the radar until he meets Rodney a guide and then John’s Sentinel side can’t hold back.

Why This Must Be Read: An angsty fic in which Daniel is the older man. That alone is a novelty worth reading - the switch from Daniel’s usual role of ‘younger man’ is refreshing - but it’s also much more than that. This is a Daniel who knows what he wants and goes after it.

Daniel and Aiden connect from the first time they see each other during a briefing. Their attraction erupts into a heated affair but duty and fear separate the lovers. This fic ends in a sad place but fortunately the author has written a sequel, Imperfect, in which Daniel finally gets to travel to the Pegasus Galaxy and helps Aiden cope with the aftermath of his experience with the Wraith.

Why This Must Be Read:

Other than the fact that it's by Julad, the author of such great works as 'Secret Lives of Scientists' and 'Absurdity Theory'? It's just plain good. She's got Ford's character absolutely down, and her OFC isn't even vaguely annoying, which is...rare. To say the least. Not to mention it's a fic that remembers that Ford would most likely have been in the SGC before going to Atlantis, and thus would have to have at least some familiarity with scientists.

mylittleredgirl crafts every one into its own perfect story, exploring different genres and locations in order to bring us along on this journey of a relationship that is utterly believable. Her characters are well-written... plus there's porn! Yay! All in all this fic is an epic in content if not in quantity, and it's likely going to remain a 'shipper reading staple for a long time to come.
