Mice’s summary says it all: Rodney thinks he's dating Carson. Carson thinks he's straight. They're both wrong.
This is one of my favourite stories because it's sweet and funny and hot, and I pull it out and re-read it whenever I feel the need for some fluffy comfort fic.

Why This Must Be Read:
Because it’s an epic. It starts with friendship in Antarctica, follows them through the Gate to Atlantis, and then shows us the developing Beckett/McKay relationship in loving detail. It has angst, romance, tragedy, humour, and appearances by all the Atlantis characters, and some wonderful original characters too.
Anyone who’s been around SGA for a while has probably already read it, but I just can’t rec Beckett/McKay without including this! Go, read – or re-read – it’s a beautiful journey.

Why This Must Be Read: This fic is funny. Not much characterization,but it's really interesting! It has some vague references to slash (which I don't read that much),but not enough to offend anyone. Why This Must Be Read: I loved this, it made me laugh and the way it progresses is just wonderful. There is a series of classes they sign up for to prevent burnout and it goes from there. It is funny, sweet and yes fluffy. Sue me…just read this you will get warm fuzzy feelings.

Why This Must Be Read: This is a cute and really sweet fic that has Carson cooking for Rodney. It is set after Duet and almost seems like pre-slash till the end. I think the thought of Carson cooking is, well, in a word, Sexy. So it was enough for me.

Why This Must Be Read: This is the first fic I read that had these two paired. It appealed to me because of the way Trinity was handled. It mentions all the mistakes that had been made, how Rodney isn’t the only flawed one on Atlantis. This is a wonderful episode fix it you ship these two.

Why This Must Be Read: This is a humorous fic, and a great take on the events that happened in Duet. Instead of McKay's solution working, this fic takes us off to a universe in which it didn't work. "Taking One For The Team" could practically be canon; Kylie Lee has captured each characters voice, and works with Cadman and Rodney's voiceovers brilliantly. I can practically hear Laura teasing Rodney. Hopefully the next two parts will be up soon.

Why this must be read:

I'm very picky about my slash--there are only a very few pairings I like, and ironically this isn't one of them, though I love the friendship between the two men. But every now and then an author comes around with a story that's just so believable that for a second you forget you don't really 'ship those two characters, and this is one of those stories. The title--from a Dylan Thomas poem--sucked me in, but it's the poetry of sage's prose that kept me reading. Set in the aftermath of "Hot Zone," with flashbacks to Antarctica, you see their relationship begin at the same time as you have Carson dealing for the first time with the reality that it could end at any time, with one of their deaths. It's bittersweet and nostalgic, and you find yourself feeling everything the characters are feeling. A must read, whether you're a fan of the pairing or not! *g*

Why This Must Be Read: I don't read slash. At all. Ever. It's just not something that floats my boat. Yet I spotted this post on my friends list... and well... some strange curiosity made me click the link. So I read a few sentences. And I simply could.not.move. I had to finish reading the entire thing. After seeing some bits of Mckay/Beckett fics that left me wondering if I was watching the same show as everyone else- I am so pleasantly surprised by this. It's in character, wonderfully written and I believed it. The wonderful little exchange left me believing that this pairing could happen, that they have conversations like this one. I enjoyed it essentially...!

Snippet: "Rodney sighed, a huff of hot breath against his shoulder, and Carson could almost *hear* the sound of his eyes rolling. He kept that up and he was going to land himself eye strain. A rather mediocre addition to an impressive list of injuries." (Of course, I reccomend not drinking whilst reading, gems like that make you laugh... And choking while reading would be bad!)
