Why This Must Be Read:liketheriverrun writes fantastic John/Rodney interaction, both gen and slash, and this is one of my personal favorites of her stories -- a wild ride through the past, present and future of the Stargateverse. An experiment gone awry (gee, what are the odds?) leaves John and Rodney bouncing uncontrollably through time and space, and the result is a kaleidoscope of different viewpoints on the oddly dressed, bickering strangers who keep appearing and disappearing -- including the POV of lovesick teenagers, Goa'uld, Ancients and a dog. A meticulously structured story, it is by turns funny and sweet, suspenseful and insightful, as the misplaced Atlanteans try to stay together and figure out a strategy to find their way home, while never knowing when or where they'll end up next (duck pond, Antarctic blizzard, battlefield, Salem witch hunt era village, etc).
