Why This Must Be Read: When I first read this fic, I was blown away by Domenika's excellent rendition of the first half of Rising. Told from Jack O'Neill's point of view, Domenika adds even more substance to the pilot episode of Atlantis. We are given a wonderful take of just how Jack convinced Sheppard to take one last chance and join the Atlantis Expedition, displaying both Jack's humorous side as well as his more serious side, the side of a man who is both a veteran of the Air Force and the Stargate Program. This is a man who knows what he's talking about and he makes sure Sheppard knows it. So when you're watching Rising in the future, take a moment and think of this fic and it will provide some answers for you.
