Why This Must Be Read: This is a heartbreaking story. I usually don’t read future fics and I rarely if ever read a story that involves death but the author is brilliant with this one. It is a bittersweet story of Daniel lost to the SGC and his friends until Jack finally hunts him down only to find out that Daniel was a held as a ‘guest’ by the NID. His time at the NID exacts more than just a physical toll but once Jack finally reunites with Daniel, he is ready to take on the burden. This is sad, it is sweet, possibly full of sappiness but in the end it will capture your heart especially if you are partial to angst.
