Why This Must Be Read: In my quest to find and read every fic related to the episode Need, I came across this one again recently. I really like the way the author shows Daniel's angst about his part in what happened, but also Jack's. I thought it was a nice friendship moment between Daniel and Jack, too, with no smarm.

Note: Most stories have a few typos or errors here or there, but this one had a few more than most, though nothing that makes it unreadable or too annoying.

This is Bastet...that's one of my early fics. It was written before the consept of betas was really in common use. I haven't updated my SG1 stuff in a while, so things are pretty rough on some of the stories.

I'm currently writing SGA stuff now and list mom on the SGAHC list on Yahoo. :-)

Is that you? Oh, how exciting! *g* I'll edit the original post to include your LJ name. I completely understand about the betas. I still really enjoyed this story. Some of the errors were ones where it was obvious you edited the sentence and forgot to delete a word or something like that. They weren't the kind of mistakes that were terribly off-putting and nothing that made it too confusing to read.

I didn't even know there was an SGA H/C list. Could you send me a link? (If you'd prefer to send it via email, you can use my username @livejournal.com.) I think I'm on the SG-1 H/C list already.

I'm still reading mostly only SG-1 fic, still mostly only Daniel or Daniel and Jack (friendship or slash), but I do so love John and Rodney and actually all the characters on SGA.

I also really loved your take on the Need situation in that story. The sentiments expressed were pretty close to what I've always thought about it. While I sometimes love the more smarmy fics with loads of crying or drama or something like that *g*, this one felt just right.

If this is one of your older stories, I'm really glad that you've kept your stories on the web because I'm still enjoying them, so I bet others are, too. :-)
