Why This Must Be Read:The fic comprises of a small set of three emails sent by Kavanagh, technically set post "Critical Mass" (but only just, hence it's more of a tag) and relate to the episode, going some way to explaining what he said during it. I found it quite touching despite the shortness, the format working really well for the subject matter - subtle but effective. I had no trouble at all picturing Kavanagh as having written them, great characterisation whilst staying true to how he's been on show. A great addition to what was seen in the episode, developing on it really well.
