Why This Must Be Read: This is an excellent fic about what happens when Rodney's team, through no fault of their own, causes harm to Rodney. The event itself is brief and bloody, but the aftermath and how Teyla, Ronon and John desperately want Rodney's forgiveness, and how Rodney needs so badly to get over it, are poignant and meaningful. It's a little dark, but well worth the read.
It was the drugs the natives had slipped into their drinks that had made them do it. Rodney knew it, knew it the moment he saw his team’s eyes, pupils blown to hell and the goofy grins of people high on something pretty fucking potent plastered across their faces. That didn’t mean he didn’t try and put up a fight, using every technique he could remember the three of them showing him. But as they’d been his teachers it was a foregone conclusion that he wouldn’t be able to stop them.
