Why This Must Be Read: Explores the "what if" of Sam actually marrying Pete. There's so much that I love about this story: Jacob's alive (with a new snake), Kerrie & Pete are not villified (although, Pete doesn't come off terribly well). The author manages to come up with a reasonable explanation of why Sam married Pete. And it has a "happy" (Jack/Sam) ending.

The day Sam Carter marries Pete Shanahan is not the worst day of Jack’s life; he’s already lived that day. But that doesn't make it easy.
