Why This Must Be Read: This is another story about Kate carefully negotiating therapy with Sheppard, who's being particularly mistrustful and difficult. It's about her once again having to adapt and handle things differently than she used to on Earth. I like the unvarnished portrayal of Sheppard, and that Kate's skillful, and insightful. It's an episode tag to 'Common Ground' and 'Phantoms', set after 'Phantoms' - a short piece, but it rings very true.
"What's your plan for dealing with this situation, John?"
"What makes you think I have a plan?"
Heightmeyer's gaze was level, unafraid -- and maybe a little more astute than he usually gave her credit for. "You always have a plan."
