Why This Must Be Read: This is a relatively short fic, and a lovely notion about how the reality of the early days of the expedition eventually becomes the stuff of legends. Kate finds her usual methods don't work so well in Pegasus, and is forced to adapt.
"We. Have a... meeting?"
She smiled. "Look out the window."
She heard him walk across the room, soft like a panther. A habit he'd had since Columbia, she would bet.
It took him less time than she'd expected. "Oh. Well, if-"
"Join me," she said impulsively. She'd planned to let him off the hook, but.
A pause. She could almost see him lick his lip, one of the few tells he hadn't mastered yet. "Is that an order?"
She laughed. "Just an invitation."
Another lip-lick. She could almost hear it. "I'll think about it."
Ten minutes later, he was there with pudding. He didn't look at her when he sat down, but he did pass her a spoon.
