Why This Must Be Read:
Author summary: Not all journeys are measured in miles. Daniel finds his way home.
This excellent short story, basically a celebration of enduring love, takes us on a road trip with Daniel as he heads toward where he's always hoped he'd end up. Along the way, in gentle progression, we not only experience where Daniel is now, but also how he got here and where he's going. It is marvelous and touching and rewarding, all at the same time. Both Daniel and Jack are beautifully written, which of course means it's both endearing and amusing in spots, plus the author's simultaneous blending of past, present, and looming future is magical. You can't help but feel grateful, and glad for our boys, in the end. Simply wonderful.
