Why This Must Be Read: Vortex is the sequel to medie's First Blood, and the second in the sga_coven series. havocthecat continues what was begun there and also expands a great deal, giving the reader a detailed look at the world the characters now live in. Familiar faces abound, some of them in very intriguing circumstances. Havoc doesn't fail to give us an extremely well-written and well-planned story as the coming conflict takes an unexpected turn, bringing an old friend of Elizabeth's back into her life. And this threesome? Is just plain sexy.

In this hilarious story, written for the sg1teamficathon, Janet is forced to quarantine SG-1 in an isolation room after a trip off-world. No one's very happy about it, but Jack apparently feels that if he's going to go insane, he's going to take the rest of the team with him. There are Jack's attempts at practical jokes and cheating at cards and the battle over the laptop, not to mention my personal favorite, which is excerpted below. By the time you've finished reading this, you'll be laughing out loud - and thinking that Sam, Teal'c, and Daniel actually let Jack off easy!

Why This Must Be Read:

friendshipper's stories have been recced before and with good reason. Her stories have a very realistic and down-to-earth feeling to them.

This one had me sobbing. I hardly ever cry reading fiction, but this felt very real and grounded. Some time in the future McKay visits a brain injured Sheppard. Dealing with what's left of his friend is hard, and McKay's reaction and his feelings are very believable portrayed. This could happen, and it does happen to soldiers all too often. If you like realistic fanfiction, this is as close as it gets.
