Why This Must Be Read:

Because Rodney discovers unexpected facets of John Sheppard when he accepts John's invitation to his father's funeral. First it's muffled, then it's sharp, then it becomes scorching. There are slightly kinky things done while John is wearing his dress uniform. But it's about much more than hotness:

"You don't seem—" Rodney stopped. He'd just started talking, as usual, and only once he'd realised what he was about to say did he question whether it was wise.

But John swivelled his head to look at him, all military and rigid outer shell.

"I just mean—I'm surprised more people aren't, you know. Talking. To you. Being his son, and all."

John smiled slightly and leaned in. "But I was his disgraced son. They're mostly talking about me, not to me."

Why This Must Be Read: It's sweet, one might almost say "cute". If you're looking for something light, short and fluffy to pass a few minutes, this ficlet is good for it. :)

Why This Must Be Read: One of the best stories with fourth-season speculation that I've read so far, if not the best. It's not excessively 'shippy, for those Elizabeth fans who aren't terribly struck on the Sheppard/Weir pairing, but it is enough for those of us who are. Bittersweet, violent, dark-into-light. That, I think, is the best way I can describe it- you'll just have to read it to find out why.

Why This Must Be Read: One of those stories you just have to revisit from time to time. I thought it would have been posted here before, but apparently not. If you're a John/Elizabeth fan and you haven't read this, you should. And if you have read it, you should read it again! Sensuality, a return to Earth, fairs, family issues and psychological profiles... all of it is here, and all of it is worth reading. The author claims there is no actual plot to it, but that's debatable. :)
