Why This Must Be Read: The Soldiering Life is a very nicely written Ronon character piece that studies his life in the Satedan military (like how he joined and how he got his dreads) and meeting the Atlantis team but also how he mirrors parts of his life on Sateda with his new life with the team, and how Sheppard reminds him of his old mentor. It's a lovely Ronon fic and a very nice look into his personality and life.

Why This Must Be Read: This charming little fic shows the fun side of Sam and Daniel's friendship, as we get to watch Daniel good-humoredly accept Sam's fussing over his appearance over the course of three seasons. From the first time she takes a comb to his hair in the opening scenes of Politics, to his teasing about her short haircut in S4, there's a strong current of humor and an even stronger undercurrent of affection that runs throughout the story. Even when the fic veers into more serious territory – when Sam and Daniel discuss the bizarre haircut that Hathor inflicted upon him, in that nebulous three weeks that none of them can remember – Sam manages to salvage the situation with some gel and some determined restyling of her own.

This one is light and fluffy and the final line will make you giggle. Read it now, and save it for another occasion when you're in the need for a smile.

Why This Must Be Read: This is a one-shot of fluff. It’s a scene right after “Bounty” with Vala and Daniel discussing the eighties and why hairstyles were the way they were back then. I like it for the simple reason it’s a nice calm fluffy moment in a sea of angst fics involving these two lately. But as you can tell I like Sorrel’s writing.
