Why This Must Be Read: This story is set right before Christmas and has Daniel trapped off world…a world that is slowly flooding – and we’re talking Noah’s ark type of flood. Sideburn’s handles Daniel in a different method in this story…he is quite pragmatic as well as sardonic as he realizes that he is facing his impending death. He doesn’t expect a rescue because as Sideburn does so well he just doesn’t see his worth to the team or to the SGC. His one regret is that he never was able to actually tell Jack how he felt about him. One of my favorite parts of the story is when the UAV is searching for Daniel and he gives it a little wave. He is resigned to his fate and his team members see this – especially Jack as they watch the video feed from the safety of the SGC control room. Sideburn pulls this one out and it has that warm fuzzy feel to it as Christmas comes. While Christmas has come and gone already – it is still worth the read!
