Why This Must Be Read: This is a soft gem of a story. It starts out gently and poignantly describing the pain of Sha’re’s death for Daniel without even touching his inner emotions because it is written from Jack’s POV. It is not over written or over emotional – it is like the twilight, soft and descending. Here we learn of a Daniel in love with Sha’re but also in love with another. It is a tender touch to the story and a sweet ending. There is no explicit writing here but it leans toward showing you that there is something sensual in the pairing between Jack and Daniel. I did not post the direct link to the story at the Alpha Gate because the author rated it Mature and therefore you will probably not be able to get to it directly without agreeing to the age of consent. Why This Must Be Read: This is one of the pieces out there that is all about Cameron. About Cameron and his inner "good southern boy", who is definitely not afraid to tell white lies. However, his inner "good southern boy" also stops him of asking for what he wants. But when aliens drug Cam with something that forces the truth out of him, what will happen?

sly_bone gives us a really nice and rare glimpse of Cameron's psyche. There's humor, there's embarrassment and, of course, there's Cam/Daniel for us all!

Why This Must Be Read: Mitai wrote this gripping story for the wonderful sg1teamficathon. While it's chock full of teamy goodness, it also definitely fulfills the requirements of the request: "Doesn't want: Sam stuck in the background."

Crisis on a different planet: overtures of friendship actually mask a desire for mass destruction. "Does the name Euronda ring a bell?" And when Daniel is held hostage to Sam's abilities to help, the two of them, without saying a word, agree to do anything to stop it.

…And that's when the story first begins.

We get Sam-in-charge, doing anything and everything she can to survive despite truly horrific odds, as her desperate mantra becomes, "There was still a chance." We have Teal'c as avenging angel, both figuratively and literally, and Jack in the best and darkest of Black Ops mode. Even Daniel, despite spending much of the fic in a mostly-dead state, has a major impact on the story.

You'll be wincing and breathless and cheering for Sam every step of the way in this exciting story!
