Why This Must Be Read:
I love how she portrays John and Elizabeth relationship, its not mushy or fluffy. It feels real, it feels in character and even though its not all out fluff, its still romantic. Plus it has sex, so its HOT.

Why This Must Be Read: Over on a Yahoo list for Daniel fic recommendations, I asked for a story about Jack and Daniel stranded in a snow storm, while this story doesn’t exactly fit the bill, one of my list sibs recommended it. In this story, we find the team gate to a world in the grasp of winter. They are doing the basics, explore - find out what the planet has to offer. The central theme of this story is a young and unsure Daniel – still not functioning well within the parameters of a military team. Daniel stumbles into trouble and gets hurt, then the team gets captured and their only hope for escape is an injured Daniel. This is team building early on, probably placed early season 2 or so – this is not your later seasoned Daniel. And this team is still working to get in sync – but they do and I would recommend you give this little story a read.

Why This Must Be Read: Yet another story recommended to me through a Yahoo list. This story takes place immediately after the memorial service for Janet. It centers on Daniel and his loneliness since he returned to the land of the living. At the beginning it is a true character study of a complex character known as Daniel Jackson. The story winds its way around Daniel’s life and the why and wherefores of life and life after descension. It takes time to get to the meat of the story – but it is oh so good – a confrontation between Jack and Daniel. They spar back and forth, they talk, they walk around the big elephant in the room until they finally get to it. I’ll leave it there – it is well worth the read!!

Why This Must Be Read: This delightful classic has all four members of SG-1 in fine form, as they bravely tackle the mysterious dangers of a field of flowers offworld… or, as Sam suggests after watching a certain pair wrestling, the dangers of testosterone in overdrive.

Everyone gets just a little bit silly (except Teal'c, who is very Teal'cy) but there's nothing OTT or even hinting of parody here. Rather, it's just the team being themselves. Which, of course, means getting into trouble – even if it's relatively mild, in this case. 

Read this one and save it to your hard drive. You'll want to read it again, and grin.

Why This Must Be Read: Set through the first season, First Contact is a lovely Teyla story about how she views the expedition, especially her budding friendship and eventually discreet romance with John. We also see Teyla and the gamut of emotions she experiences during the events of early season 1 and how her relationship with John is affected. There's some nice banter amongst the characters and some nice Rodney/Teyla friendship too as Rodney tries to explain The Goldberg Variations to her.
