Why This Must Be Read: Over on a Yahoo list for Daniel fic recommendations, I asked for a story about Jack and Daniel stranded in a snow storm, while this story doesn’t exactly fit the bill, one of my list sibs recommended it. In this story, we find the team gate to a world in the grasp of winter. They are doing the basics, explore - find out what the planet has to offer. The central theme of this story is a young and unsure Daniel – still not functioning well within the parameters of a military team. Daniel stumbles into trouble and gets hurt, then the team gets captured and their only hope for escape is an injured Daniel. This is team building early on, probably placed early season 2 or so – this is not your later seasoned Daniel. And this team is still working to get in sync – but they do and I would recommend you give this little story a read.
