He watched, captivated by the sight of her. Seeing her in her unadulterated feminine grace and beauty he could do nothing but simply watch and barely breathe.

Why This Must Be Read:  This tastefully written fic captures a beautifully romantic moment full of intense emotions and quite sensuality. It's John/Teyla without being clichéd or unbelievable, and exactly how I see a sexual relationship beginning between these two. This plays out so beautifully in my head every time I read it.

Fortification and Siege Warfare
N + 1 (This has a bonus Elizabeth threesome in it)

Why This Must Be Read:
This series shows one of those rare slash relationships where the story starts with sex and progresses to intimacy. It is that progression, from the barely restrained, ready-to-bolt at any moment John Sheppard to one that is comfortable and assured in his relationship with Rodney, that is at the core of this low-key and sometimes melancholy romance. The first three stories are fairly short, but Defend, Disarm, Destroy is a longer piece that takes the relationship shown in the first section and applies pressure to it, as Rodney and John are imprisoned in a mission-go-wrong; it will become a turning point for them, if they survive. Fortification and Siege Warfare spins off immediately after that, showing the repercussions of the mission and choices they have made, and how Rodney deliberately goes about remaking what they have into more of what he wants. The last story written, N +1 is more of a coda, as Rodney and John's relationship moves into the future, drawing Elizabeth into their world as well.

Why This Must Be Read:

This isn’t a Holiday fic per say, but Christmas and a birthday do happen in it although they are not the focus. So, I am stretching. To start off this is an Earth AU and a Kid Fic, but don’t let that deter you. Kayla is well written and thoroughly enjoyable. John is a widower and he is struggling in his new role as a single parent. The duo meet Rodney in the science museum. Then it goes from there. The build up is slow and never once is it forgotten that John has a daughter to think about during all this. It is a wonderful story.

Why This Must Be Read:

Forcryinoutloud is, in my opinion, one of the best writers in the SGA fandom. This was written for the harlequin challenge her AU is funny, and fluffy. Rodney needs a little Christmas spirit and John is just the man to bring it into his life. All the while staying in character.

Almost a Statesman

Why This Must Be Read: Because there are way too many of us that wish that this wasn't in the AU category, and think that the Jaffa deserved a better storyline than the one they got slapped with in S9-10.

The story diverges from canon sometime towards the beginning of S7 – most specifically, Death Knell never happened, and the Jaffa remained at the Alpha Site. Written intelligently from the POV of Ry'ac, this is the story of "Teal'c of the Tau'ri" – with both the positive and negative connotations abscribed to that nomenclature. The fic draws us a picture equally based in hope and realism, as the Jaffa, new to this strange, wonderful thing called "freedom," stumble along the path towards a brighter future.

Teal'c, as percieved by his son, is simply awesome. The cameos from the rest of SG-1 are wonderfully in character, as are the minor canon characters, like Rak'nor and Ry'ac, and some excellently drawn original ones. This is what I imagined Teal'c would become, once the Jaffa won their freedom – and despite SG-1's temporary loss, I only wish the Jaffa would have had him as their gain.

Why This must be read : This is just so well written, and is really very telling of the relationship between Jack and Daniel. It is not slash so it is more of a testament to their friendship. It is one of those fics I stayed up waaaay to late.

Why This Story Must Be Read : This was the first "Kid Fic" I ever read. It is an alternate look at what Daniel's childhood could of been. This is one of the few stories that have actualy made me cry. I think it's a very touching and moving read.
