A whole year through Daniel Jackson's head. Little crack!fic - ness, it's not what you would expect out of Daniel Jackson but then who knows what he's really thinking! Very funny none-the-less, I laughed very hard in a lot of places. I'm pretty sure this has not been recc'd yet and if it has it's worth it for a second time round

Exerpt:

Alcohol units 18 (hideous) Chocolate chip cookies 13 (ugh) Coffee (lost count around 3pm) Time spent drunkenly badmouthing Wallace Budge - total of 86 minutes and 22 seconds. Visits to infirmary 0 (v.good)

An exceptionally bad start to the year. New Year's party still making presence felt by way of toxic hangover. I knew the karaoke machine was a bad idea. Made Jack attempt to lower my inhibitions by feeding me alcohol so I'd sing. I have a horrible feeling we made complete asses of ourselves. Sam was humming 'It's Raining Men' with a twinkle in her eye, so it's a very real possibility.

Resolved to be virtuous. Made New Year's Resolutions.

Why This Must Be Read: This beautiful story must be read. It is poignantly heartbreaking and written without flamboyance. This story features only Daniel and Jack. It is essentially one scene. They are on the run so to speak and about to be caught. This story does not go into depth about what would happen to Daniel or Jack if there relationship was ever exposed. What it does do is detail the last sacred moments between Jack and Daniel as they say good bye to their time together. The words are woven without melodrama but hit the heart so hard it shatters. If you like angst then this is the story for you. I cannot say enjoy, because it hurts so much to read. But it is something to experience.

Why This Must Be Read:

If you are looking for someone with a spot-on Rodney and Radek voice, rosewildeirish is your writer. (And the way she writes the sex scenes? Glorious.) Her fics range from humorous to tragic, and I recommend every single one to read, if McKay/Zelenka is your cup of tea (and even if it isn't, I suggest you give it a try). I chose 'Off His Chest' because it is delightful, humorous and snarky and perfectly Rodney and Radek. And I love how a 'body parts' challenge inspired a story about Radek developing an obsession with a certain part of Rodney's anatomy, and how he deals with his interest.
