Why This Must Be Read: This is a humorous PWP fic. Daniel arrives home from a trip only to be a bit frustrated by circumstances that interfere with the plans that Jack made. I love a story in which neither Daniel nor Jack appear to be shrinking violets. They both know what they want and they're going for it--or trying to.

Why This Must Be Read: In this episode tag for Lost City, Daniel realizes that he may have misunderstood Jack's last words. I liked this story because it goes through Daniel's thought process as he figures things out.

Why This Must Be Read:

Sliding in under the wire again, a last minute insta-rec for this category. This starts off as comedy, with a light touch and perfect character voice as Teal'c encounters an unforeseen effect of tretonin, then adds in some fine team detail, and finally takes a turn into something altogether different. Nothing remotely saccharine here - but oh, it is sweet.

"Flouride in the water," Bra’tac says thoughtfully. "Tell me more of this."

Why This Must Be Read:

While Rodney is not the POV character, nor is it even his story, it is still a lovely window into who he is and how he works. It captures his hubris and his sweetness in equal measure, and something of the passionate intensity which moves him. There's real emotion here, heartfelt and bittersweet. The author has a spare, lyrical quality to her work which I find compelling. She also exhibits a grasp of character that is inspiring.

Why This Must Be Read: I have a special fondness for the first few seasons of Stargate, so I'm just as fond of episode tags or missing scenes from those early episodes. This story follows Daniel through his experiences in The Broca Divide and then continues with some nice Daniel and Jack friendship moments. There's some Daniel whumping as well as some nice comfort at the end.

Why This Must Be Read: In my quest to find and read every fic related to the episode Need, I came across this one again recently. I really like the way the author shows Daniel's angst about his part in what happened, but also Jack's. I thought it was a nice friendship moment between Daniel and Jack, too, with no smarm.

Note: Most stories have a few typos or errors here or there, but this one had a few more than most, though nothing that makes it unreadable or too annoying.
