Why This Must Be Read: We don't get to see a lot of Sheppard's deeper feelings or thoughts on the show, and we don't know how he really feels about the responsibilities that were thrust upon him with Sumner's death, so it's nice when writers try to give us a glimpse. This is a lovely introspective piece in which Sheppard contemplates the weight of his responsibility to everyone on Atlantis and the highly likely possibility that he will fail to protect them from the Wraith.
