Why This Must Be Read: Many people are familiar with Xanthe from her X-Files BDSM epic, 24/7, and if you aren't, that's just all the more reason to run and discover this amazing author. This story is almost an "aliens made them do it" kind of piece, except it doesn't feel that way. Rodney and John learn that in order to operate an ancient weapon and save Atlantis, they have to have sex, and fulfill their destined roles. Nobody likes to believe in fate, especially when they are as strongwilled and determined to create their own destiny as these two, but sometimes things are just meant to be.

This story uses the framing device of the seven deadly sins to explore Rodney's character, and it does an outstanding job of it. She gives us a very credible view of how Rodney might be perceived by others, and how he might perceive himself. Her writing is tight, subtle and it has a real insight into the character. It's emotionally engaging and intellectually engaging as well.

This is Daniel and Alt!Teal'c from "Moebius", and it's painful and beautiful in equal measure. This is not a cheery fluffy fic by any measure - read the warning - but it's not gratuitous angst either; there's an agonizing inevitability to it. Teal'c is this clear-eyed and absolute in any universe, it seems.

Why This Must Be Read: Class 6 is the name of the liquor stores that exist in/near the post exchange stores on military bases. While working in Antartica, Rodney stops by there, and runs into a cocky flyboy, and invites him back to his hotel room. What he gets isn't what he expected.

I love the snarkyness and how Rodney is already a legend on base for some of his stunts. Also, he acts like he is in total control and knows everything, but Sheppard doesn't play by the rules and quickly turns the tables on him, leaving McKay to follow, willingly. It just really captured the dynamic that I love between them.

Why This Must Be Read: It's this beautiful slow burn between two people that know each other so well, and just kind of flow together with the rain and scotch and smoke and jazz. It just hits the perfect note.

Why this must be read: This is a great little snapshot on how different John and Rodney lives could have turned out if Atlantis wouldn't have been in danger from the moment they stepped foot through the Stargate. It's not a pretty picture of where our boys could have been but it's a very possible fate. It's a great little story that makes me appreciate the John and Rodney that we have in our version of Atlantis.

Why this must be read: This story is a fun little romp. Rodney is grouchy, arrogant and utterly clueless of what's really going on. John is jealous and just as clueless as Rodney. Ronon is mysterious and very Ronon. This story really made me laugh, there are some really great lines. Look for some surprise guest stars to pop-up and bring the funny. I love Ronon more than I thought was possible.
