WHY READ?: because I love angst and this delivers some real whammies to the gut. It's essentially 'Point Of View', but with a General Jack O'Neill who's lost his wife - and doesn't want to lose her again. The difference between our Jack and the General Jack O'Neill is gut-wrenching; you can see why he became General that much faster.

Why This Must Be Read: By now, y'all must have figured out how much I like the cooking metaphor, especially as it applies to slash. So for me, this story is heaven-sent. Widget gives great Jack voice, and I like the light hand she has with the snark - she does a great job of keeping Jack adult, as opposed to whiny or bratty. Her Daniel is both smart and sexy, sparks off of Jack perfectly, and the banter is spot on. The result is a funny, hot little biscuit featuring two real, sexy men. I can't follow a recipe worth a damn, but if Jack ever decided to print this cookbook, I'd buy one in a flash. Go read!
