Okay. Seeing as how I'm going to be out of town from tonight until the end of the month, I thought I'd do my best to squeeze in one last rec for each of my categories before I go. :-)

Rec Category: Sheppard/Weir
Pairing: Sheppard/Weir
Category: fluff, I guess
Warning: het, fluff
Author on LJ: I have no idea
Author's Website: no clue--if anyone does know, please comment with the URL and I'll add it

Why this must be read: I should state right upfront that this is the third in a series, but IMO you don't have to read the other two stories first--I didn't. If, however, you want to, the titles are "Peace Tonight" and "Moondance" respectively. The entire series is very sweet without being overly saccharine, but this one really stands out in my mind. It's hard to capture why I love it in words, it's just...visceral in a way. There's something very quiet about this fic, which should be out of character for Sheppard but Melyanna makes it work because of his reasons for being quietly contemplative. And yet at the same time, there's an undercurrent of the more typical energy of the character, only more nervous than playful. And yet despite that, the fic is somewhat soothing. Like I said, hard to explain. *g* But the gist of it is, I loved it, and had to share that love with all of you. :-)

I wanted to rec this one so badly, I re-uploaded it to Scientific Minds just so I'd know I had a place to link to it. *sheepish grin*

Rec Category: Sam/Daniel
Pairing: Sam/Daniel, Jolinar/Lantash
Category: alternate universe
Warning: het, AU

Why this must be read: This is another one that was written for me (for my birthday) but despite my admitted bias, that doesn't change the fact that it's fantastic. In fact, it won best AU Daniel/Sam at the Isis Awards, so I know it's not just me. *grin* The premise is simple--in an AU where Jolinar survived "In the Line of Duty" and Daniel becomes the new host to Lantash after "Divide and Conquer," the latter comes to grips with how his life has now, irrevocably changed, especially with regards to Sam (and Jolinar). Medie loves the Tok'ra, and it comes through VERY clearly in this fic--she has a wonderful grasp on the odd dichotomy between the oneness and separateness of host and symbiote, probably due to years of pondering the Trill. ;-) But the best part is there is nothing forced, nothing artificial about Daniel's new awareness of Sam, nor hers of him. Circumstances may have thrown them together, but you never doubt that there was a choice involved too, and not just by Jolinar and Lantash. It's incredibly, incredibly moving and I've been pestering her for a sequel ever since she wrote it. ;-)
