Why This Must Be Read:This story is short, sweet and laugh-out-loud funny. It's hard to summarize the story without ruining some of the hilarious punchlines. In brief, Teyla returns back to Atlantis from a mission without her teammates and after she explains what happened to Sam, the two go back off world to remedy the situation.
There aren't many stories that exploring Sam and Teyla as friends but this story shows the possibilities of the combination. Teyla's sly and bone dry humor and Sam's sarcasm are a perfect match as is their shared experiences of being the only woman (and sometimes the only voice of reason) on their gate teams. This story is a warm and charming little sketch of two very strong and smart women enjoying a day together and becoming friends in the process. The imagery is incredibly vivid to the point that I can picture the chastened guys when Teyla and Sam retrieve them at story end and there's a phenomenal payoff in last two lines.
