Why This Must Be Read: This is a wonderful, long fic that I read years ago, and found again recently on AO3. It was just as great on the second read - and I have since watched Jeremiah which it is a crossover with. Not that it is necessary to know that show, because it's not.
This is classic SG-1 team on an epic adventure, in a post-apocalyptic world - and there are Tok'ra! How could this possibly be better?

Why this should be read: It is the backstory for how Malek met and blended with his current host - I love backstories, and this is a very well thought out and detailed one. It is also a angsty adventure, following a wounded Malek's search for a place to hide - and his dying hosts attempts to convince his symbiote to find a new host and live on. Very touching story.

Why This Must Be Read: Main focus is on two original female characters - a human (Tanya) and the Tok'ra symbiote (Sheyla) she unexpectedly becomes host to. The young human woman is from Earth, and she knows nothing about the Stargate program. The symbiote doesn't even know she is on Earth, when her stasis jar is suddenly cracked opened. The story is mostly about the two learning about each other and becoming friends - and all the fairly hilarious experiences they have together. Of course, it doesn't take long before SG-1 gets involved, and then the hunt is on. Go read it - it's a lot of fun!

Why This Must Be Read: We almost always see everything from the point of view of the SGC. This is an opportunity to see how the Tok'ra, and especially Malek and his host experinced the events of the episode "Allegiance". It is very interesting to see the differences in how they view it, as well as to hear the internal dialogue of Malek and his host.
