Why This Must Be Read: Set post-Ascension and with Quinn still working at the SGC, Daniel finds himself at odds with the rest of SG-1 and Hammond when his horrifying findings regarding an alien race collide with the needs of the many on Planet Earth. Against this backdrop, and through language both evocative and lyrical, the author portrays a post-Ascended Daniel finding himself nothing but a discordant note at the SGC, in the universe, and even in his own skin. But in a turn both beautiful and pitch perfect for these two, it takes the uncertainty of Jack/Daniel to bring him back in tune.
Author's Summary: "What purpose can Daniel find in this world after he has danced amongst the stars?"

That seems particularly believable to me and is something I've not seen elsewhere.
