Why This Must Be Read:
This is an adorable AU story about a beach town that is home to Radek’s meddling sister. He just happens to meet a cute pilot on his way to visit her.
“Dr. Zelenka, this is your pilot, Evan Lorne. He’ll be taking charge of your bag for the duration of the flight.”
In other circumstances, Radek might have noted with interest the clear, cool, grey eyes, the broad shoulders, the handsome face and thick, dark hair. Today, he spares them barely a glance.
“Ah, good. This is a very sensitive piece of equipment. You must be extremely careful with it. Make certain it is securely fastened in place during the flight. It cannot be jostled even a little. Do not, under any circumstances, open the case. I do not want any dust settling in the components. I will need to collect it from you immediately upon landing.”
As he speaks, Radek quickly goes through the contents of his bag to make sure everything is there and in its rightful place, before carefully zipping it up and almost reverently handing it over to the pilot.
Evan grins at him, and Radek almost lets the case slip from his fingers in the face of that smile. “No problem, Doc. I’ll take good care of her.”
