Why This Must Be Read: This is one of a few really well-written season one Teal'c fics that I've found. "Against the Wishes of my Dreams" does a wonderful job of showing us Teal'c's thoughts about his new home as he encounters some of the darker aspects of human culture while on his first trip to the mall with Jack. I can't say more without giving away the plot, so you'll just have to go and read it for yourself. Trust me, it will be well worth it.
