Why This Must Be Read: This is a short, amusing, rather adorable Sam/Jack fic set during season 8, when Jack was still dating Kerry, and Sam was still dating Pete. They all climb into a car together and set off on a long weekend. This fic is just about the car ride, and how that attraction is just *there* and can't be ignored, and how they both realize that Pete and Kerry just aren't happening for them.
To be fair to the reader, it might be a little hard to believe that Pete never noticed what was going on in his backseat (or did he?), and Kerry is a bit of a shrew, but they HAD to do those things so we could have Sam and Jack in the backseat getting joyously drunk on each other. (Not to mention this author is the proud writer of Badfic!Pete, and is fully aware that she's simply having fun with the characters.) Jack is so very Jack, and Sam is so very Sam, and it's just such an entertaining and shippy little read for the die-hard Sam/Jack fans. :)
