Written for the sd_ficathon. Prompt: The Stargate Program goes public. Fallout ensues, and it's not (all) good.

This is one of those stories that I read again and again, and each time I like it a little more. It's short but packs a punch, and makes you hurt: Got ten minutes and need a dose of apocafic? Here you go - it may be only a bite, but it'll fill you up.

I don't want to give a snippet. It's tied together so well and it's so short - the only things I could give you would be either the opening or the entire thing.
