Why This Must Be Read:
The Jumper is stranded several light years away from the nearest Stargate. The Team knows the Apollo will find them before they run out of power, but there's a problem. Rodney's sick—very, very sick—and he's running out of time.

This fic is both teamy goodness and Rodney backstory. It's told partly in flashbacks, where a ten-year-old Rodney is in the process of moving to America with his family, and those are the parts I find most interesting. I'm split between wanting to kick his parents for screwing him up so bad and squeeing in delight because he's such a perfect mix of them.

Another thing that made me squee in delight is Ronon - I love him smart and competent and being able to save the day in other ways than shooting things. In this story he definitely does.

The only thing I find a little bit confusing is where the flashbacks begin and end. It could have been made more clear. But really, that's just a tiny little bit of an otherwise great story.
