Why This Must Be Read: Set immediately at the end of the original Stargate movie and proceeding from there, this long, plotty story gives us a Jack who finds himself personally incapable of leaving Daniel on Abydos and, thus, forces him back to Earth. From there, the author takes us on the thoroughly engrossing journey of the first year of Project Blue Book, portraying just how different and productive that year would be by having that one man, Daniel Jackson, working for them one year sooner. Along the way, Biblio includes familiar characters and scenarios, alongside the original, in new and different ways that are both plausible and satisfying. And, as always, she seamlessly interweaves the Jack/Daniel relationship into the story, beautifully and believably portraying just how vital each man is to the other and how much different and better their lives are when they're together.
Author's Summary: "When Jack can't let Daniel go, the world changes forever around them."
