Why This Must Be Read: While this story is essentially one very long PWP, it still does an wonderful job of world-building, creating a new version of how the series might have started. While the motivations are plausible, the set-up takes won't be to everyone's taste, but the dialog is fun-- "Dentist. Theoretical astrophysicist. It’s a fine line, really."--and the pacing crisp. It's sweet, but not overly so, and well worth a read.
