Why This Must Be Read: Because Sam/Vala is not a fairytale and neither is fighting evil. Only hints of Sam/Vala in this, but it's still something I'd recommend to everyone who wants to read something on that pairing. Because the characters are so well-characterized. Just go and read if you have nothing against dark stories.
