Why This Must Be Read:

Because it's dark and disturbing and shows Sheppard after the defeat of all he holds dear, shows what he will do to make that defeat the most costly victory ever.

She smiles eagerly and holds up a hand. This is her moment. She lifts her skirts gingerly, to avoid the damp and greasy ground, stepping over nameless bodies and equipment. She climbs the stairs, up to the throne from where the city's last soldier fought.

Thanks very much! That was very creepy but good! One of the things I liked about the story was that there was a definite ending - IMO only, I find open-ended stories combined with apocafic incredibly irritating.

I loved this, it was very well written, and true to Sheppard's character.
