Why This Must Be Read: The first line, "Rodney comes back damaged." simply resonated through me during the reading of this story as the author shows us the struggle the characters, Sheppard especially, attempting to adjust with a quiet, introspective McKay - not as rewarding a development as some would have thought. The insight into the characters in the shadow of such an unsettling "improvement" reads inline with canon expectations, the reader is drawn into the unfolding drama.
