Rodney waved a hand vaguely. "The ridiculous, unfounded, relentless cheer."

"…relentless cheer?" John asked, bemused. This was new. Usually when people complained about John’s attitude, they were doing variations on the theme of respecting authority, sometimes with subsidiary lectures about working up to his potential because the universe wouldn’t just fall at his feet, young man.

Rodney craned his neck to direct a poisonous glare at him. "'Are you hurt?'" he mimicked. "'No? Then we’re in great shape! We can still get out of here! Third time’s the charm! Success is right around the corner!' That relentless cheer, Colonel Pollyanna Sunshine-pants."
