Why This Must Be Read: Though my understanding of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" is sketchy at best (I have enough trouble getting my own gov't's strange policies, let alone other countries), I believe she as crafted an intriguing tale about the worst case scenario of being found out. Some of the characters do not react the way I would expect them to (not negatively or positively, just differently), yet she still had me buying into the tale and their reactions, because she had captured them so well. And to me that is the mark of a great story, when the author can deviate from my impression of a character in a certain situation and still have me seeing that character as "in-character". Plus there is some really hot McKay/Sheppard in this story.
