Gonna be a quick one because, well, there isn't much this month. *g*

We have a couple first time rec'cers. Wanna welcome them aboard and encourage them to ask questions if they have any. We do have an FAQ, so please read it. (Link will open a new window.)

FAQ-- I have added to the FAQ, just to clear up confusion. So you may want to give it a read just to refresh your memory.

Posting Access-- Just a reminder. Posting access doesn't officially switch over for the month until [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] makes the announcement that she's done it. So if you're already rec'cing a category and have a new one for the next month, you should wait until she puts up the post before moving on to your new category. It gives everyone the same starting point.

Volunteering-- OK, I know everyone knows this, but if you REALLY want to be nice to [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] and I, don't wait until we put up who's rec'cing what for the month before you sign up. I would love a month where all I had to do was put up the post of who's rec'cing and already have reached my goal. Yes, I have a goal for the number of categories I'd like to see rec'ced each month. I really would like to have that on the first go around sometime! *g* And since I'm all about nice, here's the link to where you can go to pick a category to rec. And really, if you want a category, sign up, even if someone else is already there. [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] loves it when there's a list!! So do I.

Backup Volunteers-- I want to welcome the new group of volunteers who are willing to step in should one of our full time people need a break. There are several, so we're actually looking into moving some things around. Man, I'd forgotten just how much I hate Yahoo. I've been trying for at least a half hour to make a simple profile that would use my LJ name so that people would know who in the world I am. :| No such luck. I've typed in my password ENDLESSLY and been randomly directed to either the screen to create a profile or to the My Yahoo screen when clicking even though I'm clicking on the same link. I've asked to join using a preexisting profile at this point and I guess everyone will just have to memorize who I am. *sigh*

If this doesn't work, perhaps a locked LJ comm? When I'm stressed and life is overwhelming, I leave my e-mail for last priority in my day but I do check my LJ responsibilities and try to keep up with those.

You know, it's interesting how differently people do things. Generally, I check my email first because it's a more isolated environment than scrolling through an LJ. And I'm horrible at remembering to just check specific comms. *g* I do agree that Yahoo is a pain. It just seemed the easiest way to get us all in a group and to communicate. Your addy does have Mish in it, so I knew it was you.

We do have lots of new volunteers. That's one of the things we get to discuss. *g*

I joined the community as instructed by kellifer_fic, but I still don't seem to have posting access. I'm not terribly concerned about it, since I'm sure that will be fixed at some point, but I thought I should wave my hand about it.

And I do have my Gen category rec ready. If you'd like it up this weekend (or before I get posting access, whichever comes first), I'd be happy to e-mail it to you if you'd like to post it on my behalf...
