Hullo, [profile] sulien77 here, and I'll be reccing crossovers this month.  I love all of my fandoms, but there is something about a well written crossover that just seems to make all of the 'verses involved seem that much better and I've got some really good stories for you all.  Though I am very often unable to get across exactly why something should be read, I hope you'll give all of the stories in this category at least a glance, because they're all amazing and well worth the time to check out.  I hope that you enjoy them as much as I have when you do.

Rec Category:
Crossovers
Crossover: Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Pairing: Faith/Jack
Category: romance, amnesia fic, angst, friendship
Warning: PG-13 for some mild het sex in one chapter only.  The full, NC-17 version of that chapter is available from the author and is as beautifully written as the rest of the story.
Spoilers: "Fragile Balance" for Stargate SG-1 and "Chosen" for Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Author on LJ: Unknown at this time.
Author's Website: Eleri McCleod's profile on Twisting the Hellmouth
Link: "Worth Fighting For"
Author's Summary: When Faith wakes up missing three years of her life, all she seems to find are more questions. Can the answers lie with a man she only remembers meeting once before?

Why This Must Be Read:  This fic is in answer to a "waking up married to a stranger" challenge on the Twisting the Hellmouth website, but with one helluva twist. The author knows both universes and all of the characters within them very well and has written this absolutely amazing character study of both Jack O'Neill and Faith.  The premise of the story is very plausible and the plot is well paced and keeps you reading.  This is a fairly long story at over 40,000 words, so you might want to budget sufficient time if you read as slowly as I do.  I started this fairly late one evening and read it in one go, but was well worth losing the sleep.

Snippet of fic:

Yanked away from the wall, she found an arm around her throat, one hand pressed against the back of her head, closing her windpipe. Before she’d even tensed her muscles to throw him off, he released her with a heartfelt curse. The sudden changes had her frowning as she looked up to meet brown eyes. Damn, he was fast. Much faster than she usually attributed to a full human. At least as far as she could tell he was human. Except he was almost Slayer fast.

"God, baby, are you okay?"

His voice was shaking and filled with so much concern, her stomach actually clenched as she held his gaze. Whoever this guy thought she was happened to be one lucky lady. Too stunned to react – which was saying a lot for her - she didn't bat away the hands gently lifting her chin to stroke the neck he'd just had in a very competent choke hold.

"Why didn't you let me know you were awake?" the man continued in a tone as unsteady as his hands. "You know not to sneak up on me like that."

The man was freaked out he might have hurt her. She barely restrained a snort. Him hurt her? Yeah, right. His fingers were gentle but something in them sent shivers of awareness through her entire body. Shifting her focus from what he was doing to what he looked like, she frowned again.

She knew him.

Well, not really. But she recognized him. She hadn't seen him in years. Six years, to be more precise. A single night stopover in Colorado Springs during a hellish week of panicked flight from Boston. A bar to find a little forgetfulness. A soft rejection followed by her one not awful memory of those horrid days. A dinner full of quiet talking and even quieter understanding.

Weird coincidence - I just started re-reading this fic this morning on a wim. I'm so glad you're reccing it, I love crossovers and stories with offbeat pairings and this one is a gem of both. :)
