I'm [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] the new 'owner'/maintainer of the comm. [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] has handed the comm over to me to run; however, she will be staying on as a maintainer as well. This is going to be my first official 'bugging' you post about rec'cers. *g* The simplest way to put this is that we NEED rec'cers in EVERY category but one. We could carry over rec'cers from previous months, but honestly, some of these people have been rec'cing in these categories for months on end. Fresh perspective is important and necessary. All we ask for is four recs a month. The template for rec'cing is in the post where you will sign up. If you have questions, ask me. But honestly, when I take back open posting access in January, we're going to NEED more than one category rec'ced. So please, sign up!

I went through all the categories and some of the sign ups were as far back as June! So I'd rather not carry over and would love to start fresh. So yes, sign up for new categories! :-)

Could I sign up for just one month, or do you need a longer commitment? I'm new to the fandom, and while I think I can come up with enough good recs for one month in a couple of categories, I'd be reluctant to commit to more than that.

Follow-up question -- One of the categories I'm considering is crossover, but they'd probably all be Buffy/Angel crossovers since that's my other major fandom. Would that be okay as long as it's only a month's worth and not a perpetual inundation of Buffydom crossovers?

Ooo, personally... you've hit on my other fandom love! *g* And as the maintainer... you can! It's completely up to you what you rec as your crossover. If that's Buffy/Angel, that's fine with me!

The way this seems to go is that you sign up for a month and if no one else signs up for the next month, you can keep your category or back down :) (though they'd probably prefer you to keep it, they do understand you can't keep reccing all that much).

You can rec in three categories. So far I have you signed up for two. There are a lot of pairings and characters still up for grabs if there's any of those that appeal to you. I'm just so excited. I went from one category filled to fourteen. I'm feeling MUCH better now! Thank you for signing up!

Okay. I'm willing to take the plunge...but with a question. What if there aren't 4 recs a month in a category: i.e. an unusual pairing???

If it's an unusual pairing like that, then just rec what you have. Some pairings, like say, Osiris/Daniel probably wouldn't have a lot of fics out there. I ran into that with Sam/Jonas and Jack/Jonas. So you'd just rec what you had.

The thing is... like say you want to rec Jack/Daniel in the pairings category but they're already taken... the Slash category isn't. So you could rec Jack/Daniel in the slash category as well. The genre section is pretty open as far as who you want to rec. We don't have rec'cers for Slash, Het, or Gen yet and those are the most broad categories we have because they pretty much include anyone. Of course, if it's a genre like say, H/C that you wanted to rec, if the majority of your fics are say... Jonas-centric, we don't have a Jonas rec'cer for January.

And we're definitely taking sign up's for February on through so you can go put your comment in for the following months as well.
